Helping you start and grow your business since 1974
Evans House has been established in the business community for over forty years. We put this down to a few things:
1. Be transparent - Our charges are fixed from the outset so you can readily determine whether you have the budget to start a new business, open a new location for your business or simply move your existing premises. One way we can increase transparency is by fixing the amount you pay in rent, services and utilities.
2. Be flexible - The UK economy has suffered a massive upheaval in recent years and we also understand that many of our businesses are cyclical. For example, many of the fitness based services our tenants offer do better in the summer months than in the winter months. Evans House readily works with tenants to try and assist its tenants during difficult times.
3. Invest in your business - Throughout the recession, Evans House invested a significant sum of money into improving the building's entrances and car parks. It also invested in some of the tenants' businesses in order to fund growth. Evans House understands that where there is a business case, it may be mutually beneficial for Evans House to invest in their tenant's businesses in order to share the risks as well as the benefits of growth.
Our origins
Stuart Evans (left) outside the Osnath Works
Back in the 70’s when people wore flares and did that Pulp Fiction dance thing, the Evans family were busy manufacturing tents, marques, and trailer tents under the name "Stan Evans Tents." We even made specialist expedition equipment for Mount Everest (see below).
As time went on, manufacturing in the UK went off the boil and the Evans family turned to commercial property in the form of Evans House, a three storey, two-hundred foot long multi-occupancy mill with businesses offering a variety of services.
We predominantly cater for social and leisure based businesses such as snooker halls, pool tables, fitness, athletics and martial arts. However we do have a few commercial based businesses such as a car body repair shop, motorcycle and scooter repair shop. Just take a look at the tenants page for more information.
If you are interested in starting a business and need to rent a premises or want to move to a larger premises, feel free to give us a call and will be happy to help.
